Quality Assurance/Quality Control Support - Transmission Line Construction
KDG Construction Consulting is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance/Quality Control Support individual to work in conjunction with our client's project team, including contractors to provide quality assurance services for a the MCC-VIC Line 1 and Line 2 construction. The successful candidate will possess a strong knowledge of electric utility construction methods, standards and practices associated with transmission and substation construction activities. This individual will work closely with project teams, including engineers, contractors, and procurement personnel, to address quality concerns and ensure consistent quality throughout the project lifecycle.
QA/QC specialists ensure that electrical installations meet safety standards and contribute to the successful completion of energy projects. QA/QC specialists work closely with project teams, including engineers, contractors, and procurement personnel, to address quality concerns and ensure consistent quality throughout the project lifecycle.
This is a full-time position which will require travel and field representation across several remote construction sites throughout the Victorville to Las Vegas area.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Retrofit and Modifications of existing steel lattice towers
- Retrofit and Modifications of Concrete Foundations
- Civil and grading work
- Conductor and Ground Wire stringing
- Conductor and Ground Wire splicing
- Monitor, witness and report on construction activity and contractor's progress
- Monitor and document construction activity to ensure contractor's adherence to quality control plan and compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Provide day-to-day coordination of contractor activities to maintain consistency and integrity in the overall project.
- Inspect construction operations and completed work to ensure quality control requirements are maintained. Make recommendations and escalate issues, as required.
- Manage project documentation and reporting, including daily progress reports, daily data collection, time sheets, weekly roll-up reports, and issue reports.
- Monitor project site safety and contractor's adherence to safety plan and standards
- Coordinate close-out process.
Required Qualifications:
- 15 or more years of experience providing quality assurance, inspection and field representative services on similar transmission and/or high-voltage substation construction projects
- Strong knowledge of electric utility construction methods, standards and practices, including substation construction activities and requirements
- Advanced understanding and experience with project operations and the methods, process and procedures associated with owner representative construction management
- Experience in QA/QC processes, inspections, and audits
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and safety protocols is essential.
- Familiarity with quality control methods, statistical process control, and root cause analysis
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards
- Effective communication with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders
- OSHA 30-Hour
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong reporting and word processing skills
$80-$100 per hour depending on experience
